The general view about this movie is that it is about social situation and a good message is conveyed, but what it really is another story.

In Punjab Bolda Sarabjit Cheema is the lead protagonist , Gurbaaz, who is a young leader and tackling all the social menaces (especially drug, alcohol, dowry, undue indebtedness) in his village, and also making the people aware through street plays. It talks about social reforms but the end doesn’t justify the buildup of the movie.

Also there were too many bad guys (Rana Jang Bahadur, Harpal Singh, B.N. Sharma, Binuu Dhillon) packed into it, that you can never relate to one, and none of their characters got enough screen time to leave mark. Though thanedar and laala ji had their moments. But I find whenever someone keeps on repeating same dialogue, it seems clich├ęd and looks like copy of Jaswinder Bhalla. It is my viewpoint that only he can carry that unique lines (main tan bullan naal bhanda akhrot, asin kala coat aiven nai paya) repeatedly and still can make us laugh every time. Other comedians have enough strong performances, that they need not copy this thing to leave mark.
